What is SIM-Based Tracking?

SIM-based fleet Tracking uses existing telecom network infrastructure to identify the location of drivers’ cellular handsets, and in-turn plots the real-time location coordinates on the map.

The technology used in the solution

SIM-based LBS (Location-based Services) tracking solution utilizes Cell ID technology used by Mobile Network Operator (MNO) to locates a mobile device by identifying the serving Base Transceiver Station (BTS) to which the handheld device is connected.

The Mobile Network Operator (MNO) using the known physical locations cells/sector combination with Timing advance (TA) information i.e., calculated through Network Measurement Information; this adds the improved accuracy of location of the device connected to the network with no dependency on the hand-held device capabilities. All that information with the help of an advanced algorithm for real-time location of vehicles plotted on maps for better visibility of cargo for both fleet owners and clients.

Solution Features:

Location Tracking:
The real-time location of the vehicle is plotted on a map with coordinate details. History of vehicle location of path traversed for a maximum period of 30 days can also be fetched.

Geo-Fencing:
Point-of-interest can be marked in Circular or Polygon geo-fence on the transit route; for any IN or OUT movement within these marked zones, alerts are generated in the system.
